It’s Wednesday. The Supreme Court handed Trump a stark defeat on mail voting — and the public deserves to hear it described that way. Seven justices rejected his last-minute bid to restrict mail ballots before the midterms, protecting a process used by nearly one-third of American voters.
🖊️ Sign the petition to call on the media to cover this ruling not as a procedural development or a political setback for the White House, but as what it is — a victory for democracy, won in court, against a president trying to make it harder for Americans to vote before a midterm election that will determine control of Congress.
A USPS whistleblower had already warned that Trump's portal system was so poorly built that a single barcode error could discard entire batches of ballots — potentially disenfranchising millions. The public deserves reporting that names the threat that was stopped, celebrates the institution that stopped it, and makes clear what was actually at stake.
In addition, a judge blocks Trump’s limits on how long foreign students and journalists can stay in the United States. And women have been shut out of the workplace and promotions due to childcare assistance waitlists.
