Trump's exception to his visa crackdown, no AI bailouts say House Progressives, and more.
Hi there,
It’s Friday. Flávio Bolsonaro lost Brazil’s election by 4.4 million votes, then fled the country in defiance of a Supreme Court order barring him from leaving. He is under multiple investigations for alleged money laundering and tax evasion, and had been ordered to surrender his passports by Tuesday. He reportedly landed in Miami and left the airport hidden under umbrellas.
Meanwhile, Trump’s government is gutting the legal visa system. It continues to suspend and revoke existing visas and enforce new travel bans. The public deserves reporting that asks who gets a visa, who doesn’t, and why.
In addition, a judge blocked DOJ’s attempt to stop California from processing ballots. And progressives in the House show up with a new resolution — refusal to bailout AI companies that bankrupt themselves.
