Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas keeps declaring emergencies on the border while Trump claims it's safe, how the blue wave could reshape the South, and more.
Hi there,
Tomorrow, No Kings: Vote Early will hold more than 2,500+ events across the nation! If you haven’t yet, you can find an event in your local community here.
It’s Friday. More than 2,500 “No Kings: Vote Early” events are planned across all 50 states this Saturday — rallies, community walks, voter registration drives, and neighborhood block parties — all focused on one goal: getting people to vote early in the midterms. The movement, organized by Indivisible and allied groups, has drawn millions since it launched in response to Trump’s second term. An NBC News poll found 43 percent of registered voters support No Kings — more than supported the Tea Party at its peak.
🖊️ Sign the petition to call on the media to cover the No Kings movement not as a liberal protest phenomenon, but as what it is: the largest sustained pro-democracy mobilization in modern American history, showing up at the exact moment democracy needs it most.
Too much media coverage has treated No Kings as a protest story — crowds and chants and colorful signs. It is more than that. It is a coordinated, nationwide civic mobilization in direct response to an administration that has tried to restrict mail ballots, redraw congressional maps mid-decade, seize election records, and intimidate election officials. Saturday’s events are not just demonstrations. The public deserves reporting that takes that seriously — and that connects the movement’s urgency to the very real threats to election integrity it is rising to meet.
In addition, how the blue wave could reshape politics in the South, with Democrats poised to flip more than 400 state legislative seats and governorships in Texas, Georgia, and Florida. And, how a private equity executive moved to the Pentagon — cronyism and waste followed.
