Trump attacks NYT reporter, SCOTUS' next phase in the abortion rights fight, and how the Iran War is depleting the U.S. military
Hi there,
It’s Monday. While the Supreme Court protected the access to mifepristone by mail, dissents written by Alito and Thomas reveal the next phase of the abortion rights fight — arguing the Comstock Act, passed in 1873, prohibits the mailing of abortion medication. A look into how Trump’s Iran War is depleting the American military, and on board Air Force One, Donald Trump accused a New York Times reporter of “treason” for covering the cost of the Iran War.
Donald Trump’s escalating attacks on journalists and news organizations are not just political rhetoric—they are direct assaults on freedom of the press. When a president uses the language of punishment and betrayal against the press, it threatens one of the core protections of democracy. Yet too much media coverage treats these attacks as spectacle, personality conflict, or another chapter in Trump’s feud with reporters rather than confronting the broader danger.
The public deserves reporting that defends the role of a free press instead of treating attacks on it as routine politics.
