Trump threatens genocide, Democrats call for invoking 25th Amendment, and ICE releases soldier's wife.
Hi there,
It’s Wednesday. Yesterday morning, Donald Trump threatened genocide against the Iranian people saying, “a whole civilization will die.” Ultimately, the deadline was kicked down the road two weeks (Trump Always Chickens Out), but these threats toward Iran have sparked alarm across the political spectrum and raised serious questions about his fitness to serve.
Members of Congress and national security experts are already discussing whether Trump’s behavior warrants invoking the 25th Amendment, which allows for removal of a president who cannot discharge the duties of the office. Yet much of the mainstream media is still treating these statements as rhetoric, strategy, or political controversy instead of confronting their full implications.
Journalists must clearly report the stakes, including the growing calls for the 25th Amendment, and explain what those threats mean for democracy, global stability, and the safety of millions.
