✍️ Petition: Media Must Confront Trump’s Press Attacks
Donald Trump’s escalating attacks on journalists and news organizations are not just political rhetoric—they are direct assaults on freedom of the press. Recent remarks accusing reporters of “treason” for covering the Iran war cross a dangerous line, attempting to frame journalism itself as disloyal or criminal.
When a president uses the language of punishment and betrayal against the press, it threatens one of the core protections of democracy.
Yet too much media coverage treats these attacks as spectacle, personality conflict, or another chapter in Trump’s feud with reporters rather than confronting the broader danger.
Labeling journalists as enemies or traitors is not normal political criticism—it is rhetoric designed to intimidate, delegitimize scrutiny, and erode public trust in independent reporting. When coverage softens or normalizes those attacks, it obscures the threat they pose.
The public deserves reporting that defends the role of a free press instead of treating attacks on it as routine politics.
Until next time,
Harry from The Hound
